Purpose & Core Values

“By focusing on purpose, you align your work with your deepest values, and also relieve yourself of the expectation that the long slog of a career will be all (or even mostly) happiness and sunshine.” ~ Jessica Stillman, Harvard Business Review

When I ask clients what their values are and if their values are visible in their current work environment or team, there is usually a short silence followed by a tilt in their head sideways and upwards as though in deep thought.

Sometimes our dissatisfaction with our career or job role is because of a lack of alignment with our values or sometimes it’s an unawareness how the role aligns with our core values.

Besides values, my clients also explore their motivated skills, personality profile and drivers. It’s usually an a-ha moment where they discover what frustrates them and how to move forward.
